Available Services

I. APPLICATION VERIFICATION

The following checks will be used to verify information on application, and obtain information to proceed with subsequent searches.

SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER VERIFICATION
This report is a search of national data bases to verify a person’s social security number. This search will return information from national files on the applicant's current and former addresses.

EMPLOYMENT REFERENCE VERIFICATION
We will verify the references of at least three former employers (or number listed by applicant). A qualified representative will ask a series of standard questions relating to the applicants employment with the employer. The questions will relate to the applicants suitability for employment. The customer will receive a report outlining who was contacted and responses given. (A release form is not necessary but most employers will not release information without one.)

PERSONAL REFERENCE VERIFICATION
We will verify at least three personal references (or number listed by applicant). A qualified representative will ask a series of standard questions relating to the person’s knowledge of the applicant. The questions asked will relate to the applicants suitability for employment. The customer will receive a report outlining who was contacted and responses given.

EDUCATION VERIFICATION
We will confirm if the applicant actually attended college, the number of years attended, and degree received. Education is usually the most over-stated fact on a resume. In today’s society it’s important to keep an eye out for attempts to falsify credentials, such as counterfeit diplomas, altered transcripts, and claims of degree and credential status without supporting documentation.

 
II. RECORDS SEARCHES

These searches are recommended to gather specific information concerning each individual applicant.  This will give the employer an outline of the applicant’s past and current criminal involvement, civil action, either plaintiff or defendant, and driving record for possible DWI convictions or revocations.

CRIMINAL RECORDS SEARCH
NYS now offers a full State criminal history for a ten (10) year period.  Most States also are able to conduct full State wide criminal records checks.  This information will confirm or deny information on application and give the employer information on probation or parole circumstances.  All States vary in area covered and disclosure of information

CIVIL RECORDS SEARCH
This report will give you all civil records filed in the requested county. Including all lawsuits, judgments, divorce records, name change information etc. This report is particularly helpful if the applicant has been involved in legal actions.

DRIVING RECORD INQUIRY
This report could have a number of different uses. Driver license information would be vital in the hiring of people who will be permitted the use of company vehicles. Most insurance companies will give discounts if you take the precaution to check employees driving records. With a full name and date of birth, or accurate driver license number, we can verify all driving information. This information will include; 1. Height, 2. Sex 3. Eye Color 4. Drivers Birth Date, 5. License Class and Restrictions 6. Status - Revoked, Suspended or Expired, 7. Drivers address 8. All violations in the past five years, to include DWI’s. 

HEADER REPORT
This report will give you addresses where the applicant has resided or used for the purposes of gaining credit. It will also give you employment information used by the applicant to gain credit. This report may also give you spousal addresses and employment. This report will not leave a notation on the applicant's credit report. This is a good report to use if you do not want the applicant to know you are checking on them.

INDIVIDUAL CREDIT FILE SEARCH
This CBI report will contain all the credit information compiled on the applicant. This information will include loan and credit card information. The information will include credit limits and balances on credit cards and loans. Payment histories over a twelve month period, late payments, etc. The report will show judgments, collections, and bankruptcy information. The report will also show all inquiries by institutions over a two year period. (Release form required)

BANKRUPTCY SEARCH
This report will give you all the information on a bankruptcy filed in Federal Court in The District of Minnesota. This will be helpful on a bankruptcy that has recently been filed in court but will not show up on the applicant's credit report. This report will show all liabilities, assets, judgments, and exempt amounts. Scheduled court hearings and the disposition of the case.

MILITARY RECORDS
Employers need not be at a loss when it comes to screening an applicant whose recent years were spent in the military. Provisions within the Freedom of Information Act of 1967 allow employment screeners, with the proper release form, to access information shown on documents issued by the Armed Forces at the time a service person is discharged. Required information needed from the applicant, besides the standard identifiers regarding the applicant’s military status are: active, reserve, National Guard, branch of service, and dates of service. There is one drawback to checking military records. Due to the process of retrieval the military uses to access records, the turnaround time is one to two months. Even so, if an applicant's most recent work history is the military, finding the applicant has lied about his/her records, dates of service, or discharge status a month or two down the road, would be better than letting the records go unchecked.

FEDERAL RECORDS SEARCH
Every citizen falls under the dominion of a state, commonwealth or district, and the federal government itself. The federal court system handles three types of cases: civil, criminal and bankruptcy. Although most legal disputes and criminal cases are settled in State courts, any case that has alleged violations of federal statutory or constitutional rights would be heard in the federal forum. Criminal cases include mail fraud, drug trafficking, civil rights violations, or any violation of federal criminal law.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All necessary release forms, for credit information (if requested) and primary investigation, as well as a summary of the applicant’s rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, will be made part of your Employment Application.
